Happiness is... playing!

Honey has tagged me in a game, where I have to list six things that make me happy. I've decided to do a different blog entry for each thing - and today it's all about playing!

It's important to introduce yourself properly.

Millie is bowing nicely to Boo the Standard Schnauzer and me.

Sometimes you are on top.

And sometimes not.

Sometimes all the dogs play together at once.

Sometimes one dog plays against all the other dogs.
Rascal is playing against Harry and me.

Sometimes you just know you are going to win.

Heh, heh!

Mysterious Monday

Mystery Object... (Hint: it's related my superior playing skills.)

And the answer is... it's the only part of my playing partner, Millie, that was free to move under my expert wrestling.

Note my solid, square stance - no puppy is safe when I'm in a rassling mood!

PS - Honey has tagged me in a game, and I have to list six things that make me happy... I'm going to be doing that very soon...

Rogue puppy alert!

That daring and dashing dog, the Scarlet Puppynickel, has resurfaced and has been rogue-ing his way around the world.

Recently he perpetrated a devious crime against Oskar, and I'm sorry to report that I have once again been visited by the Scarlet Puppynickel.

The other night I was innocently sleeping, dreaming happy puppy thoughts, when all of a sudden the Scarlet Puppynickel appeared from nowhere and pushed me off the bed! Yes, really! I couldn't believe it, either!

Of course, he disappeared almost immediately, but not before having a bit of a chew on the blue blanket.

So from now on I'm sleeping in the safest part of the bed - right in the middle.

PS - My human asked me to mention that the Scarlet Puppynickel must have been lurking when she was taking this photo, because before she took it, the bed was perfectly made, but when she finished taking it, the bed was all crumpled. We think the Scarlet Puppynickel must have struck with the speed of lightening when the flash went off.

Mysterious Monday

Mystery Object... (Hint: it's related to a fine winter's day.)

And the answer is... it's my shadow!

Just me and my shadow.

This is a picture of me having a bit of a run around the dog park near the Lost Dogs' Home. It's completely fenced in (the park I mean, though of course the Dogs' Home is fenced in, too), and lots of dogs go there to play - it's a good place to meet new friends and wrestle with them.

PS. I think Honey has pupliminally influenced me this week...

Mysterious Monday

Mystery Object... (Hint: it's related to my training.)

And the answer is... it's a silicon lemon squeezer thingy.

My human has a waist pouch that she uses to keep my dry treats, like liver treats (yum!), etc, but when we use things like poached chicken (yum!), my human doesn't like to use the waist pouch because it's too difficult to clean. We were using zip-lock bags, but they're also difficult to clean, and it's wasteful to keep throwing them away - as well as being difficult to get treats out of when they're in the waist pouch or a pocket.

So my human did some searching and finally found the Silicon Lemon Squeezer Thingy. It's the right size to keep a walk's worth of chicken (or turkey, super yum!), and to put a couple of fingers in at a time to get them out. It holds its shape, but it's still squooshy enough to fit in the waist pouch or in a pocket. And it can be washed up! Plus it comes with a handy lid so if there's some treats left it can go back into the fridge for tomorrow.

Though if there are treats left... I demand to know why!

Eine kleine nachtpuppyspit

The wonderful Honey is holding a competition for Advanced Drooling Skills & ‘Spectacular Slobber’.

I've decided to enter in the Prop-Assisted category, with my prop being my human's hat.

In winter, my human wears a hat to bed. Other humans laugh at her, but she says she doesn't like the air to be too hot when she's sleeping, and she needs the hat to keep her head warm. I think she should just let her coat grow out like me, then she wouldn't even need blankets.

I, too, like her hat... for chewing on. It's very tasty. And it's good for leaving puppy spit on.

HATTENDUM: Honey has requested an action shot, so as to be able to fully evaluate my technique... so here it is.

Note the optimum angle of my nose, best to dispense the maximum amount of puppy spit. Ear tilt is also important, as is the bracing position of the paws.

The It Puppy

I'm It - Max and JD tagged me in a picture game!

Now I have to...

  • Open the folder that contains Pet photos

  • Select any photo in that folder that I haven’t posted previously

  • Post that photo along with the story behind it on my blog

  • Then tag 5 friends

So here's my picture.

This was taken on the day I chose my human. She was visiting the breeder where I was born, and I was playing in the yard with my eight identical salt-and-pepper sisters.

We were so identical that we had asked our breeder to put spots of paint on our backs, to avoid confusion. I requested a little red dot of paint at the base of my tail, and that's how I got my first name, "Little Red Dot" (or "Little Dot").

As soon as I saw my human, I knew she was going to be my human. It was obvious she didn't have enough Schnauzer in her life, and I knew I was the best puppy for the job!

So I wrestled her to the ground and held her down until she submitted, and then I arranged things with my breeder. A few weeks later I organised for her to come and pick me up and take me home... and you know the rest!

And now I have to tag some puppies to choose a picture. I think most of the puppies I know have already been tagged, but I'm going to cheat a little and tag two at once - my cousins Bertie and Oliver - that means one picture each...

And if there's anyone out there who hasn't been tagged yet, then consider yourself the new It!

Mysterious Monday

Here is a Mystery Object. Can you guess what it is? (Hint: it's related to my dinner.)

And the answer is... it's my dinner bowl!

I'm still a bit scared of my ceramic bowl, so I've been getting my dinner in these cute little plastic containers. If the dinner is particularly yummy, I try to eat the container as well - it's a compliment to the chef, really.

I'm very artistic, don't you think?
